Writing A Macroeconomics Essay: A Step-By-Step Tutorial

A macroeconomics essay can often turn into a tough task, especially for those students who do not like this subject. However, there are several tips that will help you complete the assignment step by step.

Starting to Write Your Essay

At the very beginning, you need to do the following:

  • Determine and think over the line of questions that are involved in your topic. Make sure that you understand the topic perfectly.
  • Collect the necessary reference materials that can support your point of view on the involved questions. At this stage, you need to make a lot of notes that will help you pick out the most interesting and relevant citations.
  • Determine and think over an idea that will be unfolded in your macroeconomics essay. Figure out the main thought of the project. For this, you need to answer questions like: What are you going to tell with the help of your paper? Which findings are expected?
  • Make sure that you know the expected type of the project: cause and effect, argumentative, informative, etc. It will determine a lot in your future project.
  • Compose an outline. Even though it’s not demanded in the final version of your project, it’s better have one for yourself. It will help you a lot when you build up the structure of your project, locating facts in the text in a logical consequence. Keep in mind all the necessary parts of your paper: an introduction, the body paragraphs (one to three, rarely, more than three in number), and the conclusion. The more detailed your outline is, the better for you.
  • You may want to have an epigraph. It can be a nice citation that is located before the entire text of your project. However, you need to be very careful with such things. Sometimes, an inappropriate detail of this type can spoil the general impression.
  • Keep in mind the size of the main project parts. The intro should be no longer than 25% of the whole paper size. At the same time, it needs to catch the attention of your readers and be informative enough. The same can be said about the conclusion that is the logical ending of the project. The remaining 50% of the whole paper size should be given to the body paragraphs that are supposed to represent the main idea of the project properly.
